Hello,

     My name is Sherri Freeland and I currently teach Kindergarten in Benkelman, NE.  I graduated from Kearney State College in 1987.  A very long time ago.  I have a few graduate courses under my belt but I have never pursued a Master's Degree until now.

     I have little knowledge of the computer world.  Last year I did make a slide show of my class for their graduation and I used Windows Live Movie Maker but that is the limit to my experience with technology.  I use a PC because that is what our school uses.  I did purchase a new laptop that has Windows 8 on it and I purchased the latest version of Microsoft Office.

     I have been busy teaching school and raising all five of my children.  My son Tyler is going to college this next year and I will have 3 years before my youngest gets into high school so I thought I would take advantage of this time and complete my Master's Degree.  I will be honest and tell you that I almost dropped this class because I feel very inadequate when it comes to computers but I know it is the happening thing and will only make my teaching that much better.  My husband has taken online classes before and he will be a big help when it comes to using the blackboard.  I chose Peru because of the cost and the classes that were being offered.  This degree will obviously give me a pay raise but will also make me more knowledgeable about all the new practices in teaching.
